Deep Vibe Quartet (FR)

Μια σπάνια ευκαιρία για το Αθηναϊκό κοινό να απολαύσει το ηχόχρωμα ενός ιδιαίτερου μουσικού οργάνου όπως είναι το βιμπράφωνο, θα δοθεί με αφορμή τη συναυλία των Γάλλων Jaques Marugg και του Michel Saulnier, ιδρυτών του Deep Vibe Quartet. Το ρεπερτόριο τους αποτελείται από Jazz Standards, αλλά και συνθέσεις του group. Μαζί με τον Jaques Marugg (βιμπράφωνο) και τον επί χρόνια μουσικό του συνεργάτη Michel Saulnier (ακουστικό μπάσο) θα εμφανιστούν οι Βαγγέλης Στεφανόπουλος (πιάνο) και Βασίλης Ποδάρας (Τύμπανα). 

Jaques Marugg

He was about nine years old when he realised that music would be his line being in raptures of C. Mingus (1968) on a black and white screen.

 Jacques Marugg uses the amplifier system for vibraphone created by K&K

Sound System.

It was the beginning of a very tough musical training.

Michel  SAULNIER 

Double-bassist. Born, Paris, 1953, son of Maurice SAULNIER, viola player with the French National Orchestra and Pierette SAULNIER, chorist with the Monte-Carlo Opera. He learnt cello in Boulogne between the ages of 8 and 15 

then, in, 1968, discovered jazz and improvisation. He took up the double-bass and won a prize at the Versailles CNR with Jacques CAZAURAN. 

From 1975 to 1979 he worked with Louis SCLAVIS and then came into contact with ARFI at the Avignon Festival where he guested with WORKSHOP DE LYON, MARVELOUS BAND and MARMITE INFERNALE.  

Since 1991 he has played in the Steve Waring quartet alongside Alain GIBERT and Christian VILLE.
